Not recommended

Not very streamlined, customer service is a joke. They allow all these plug ins, but can not provide support on them, they also allow non working plug ins which is super frustrating.
The links that they do recommend or "integrate" are a joke and are very cumbersome.
This is my first website being built, I thought wordpress was great at first, but their support and helpfulness is terrible and in line with Wells Fargo.

Inconsistent Authentication Process

Has happened a few times.
I've tried to log in to my wordpress account from a different device than my usual one. But I'm unable to log in because an "authentication email is sent to my email address", this email address is set up on a work computer that I'm not always able to get on however when recently when I did manage to get on, there had been no email sent. PLEASE FIX THIS!!

Since many months of being forced to use it I still hate the new block system

Whoever the guy was that invented the block system for WordPress he should be fired immediately and the old HTML should be brought back as well. Back when WordPress forced us its new block system down our throats they have stated that they have asked many users about it, before they implemented this new system, which means many users have used it in its beta stage and then told WordPress what to do better. Well, I never have been asked if I want this crap, yet they just force me to use it, although I live in a country with a democratic republic!
Sure, you can choose the option classic block, which looks like the old layout you were able to use to create your website and blog entries, but it's still no comparison with the truly old system that we have all loved. Funny, my webpage uses roughly 10% of its granted megabyte space, so I never have to give WordPress any money, because I would always hesitate to do so, as giving them money would mean to also finance the guy who had this horrible idea of throwing away the old HTML system and forces all of us, no matter if free users or users that pay for more webspace, to use this horrible system that always jumps up and down, whenever I click into one of these blocks to modify them.
And yes, the support is a joke, I can only testify to what the other users have reported here in their reviews, as I have gained my bad experience almost two years ago. Seriously, if my webpage wouldn’t already exist for roughly four years on WordPress and has become kind of well-known among its users that search for the stuff that I offer there, I would have just took off to somewhere else for a long time already.

Terrible and illogical design. Limiting possibilities for design.

i have a mac and despite downloading…

i have a mac and despite downloading the latest php on my computer my website kept crashing! i paid three years via bluehost and i faced technical issues after technical issues. i spent hours resolving one after the other...and realised i spent more time resolving technical problems than actually adding content to the website. i grew so frustrated and tired : i gave up.
to use wordpress, you need to not have a mac, and be familiar with coding and be tech savvy.. funny enough, i am an advanced user of photoshop, affinity designer etc... i regret leaving squarespace.. so easy to use compare to wordpress!!

I used wordpress.com for years and was happy with it. Some time ago they have changed they editing options - they removed HTML section and introduced some crappy, nasty - impossible to understand blocking system. It's pure hell!!! After trying to understand that - i gave up and move to wix.com now.

Great for your first site

I wouldn't really recommend this for anything other than a personal blog. Customization is very limited. You're better off using vanilla wordpress on a different hosting site. For personal blogs though, they're good enough.

Automattic and WP are totally not okay

Hello friendly helpers,
Here is my review.
WordPress is okay as long as you use it. If you want to move a domain to another registrar you will find out that they work with resellers like Automattic.
If you tell them that the domain you bought needs to be transferred, you can't login anymore. They sent you, keep sending you not working suggestions. So you keep asking and telling it isn't working, they tell you how to login, etc.
But if you own a domain, paid for it, a couple of years, than they have to solve the problem, one way or the other.
But they don't!!!!
